There's a little bit of Shaji in all of us

I play the guitar, and write my own songs. I produce my music at my home studio running open source software: Ardour for Recording, Mastering and Post Production, Hydrogen for Drum Programming, and a host of LADSPA and LV2 plugins.

My sound is mostly Rock and Roll, Acoustic and Folk, but I like to experiment a lot with my music, and because of this my songs have a wide variety of overlapping genres, from Dance and Pop to Alternative, with some elements of Trance and Techno as well.

My inspiration comes from my favourite bands, including U2, Oasis, Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and some Hard Rock stuff such as Linkin Park and even Limp Bizkit. I like to listen to a lot of stuff though, and the bands on my playlists are as diverse as you can possibly imagine.

I love acoustic riffs as much as clean, crunchy distortions, and a a little bit of delay is always noticeable on my guitars if you listen closely enough. I love to have melodic layers and harmonies on my guitar tracks, and love to fill tracks for wider stereophonic landscapes. Groovy synths and guitar harmonies, along with (mostly) natural or (sometimes) sequenced bass constitutes my signature sound.

I have recorded two full length albums, and am currently working on my third studio album. Along with this I have recorded some miscellaneous tracks as I fine tune my craft.

I love to code! I am the developer of Amp Rack and other audio apps for Android. I love everything from Python for Object Detection and ML / Vision to JS / PHP for web development. I use C / GTK+ on Linux for systems programming, and Java for Android web development. My projects on Github

I love to drive, and love to get lost on the Highway. It is my passion to set a location on Google Maps, and just to drive! I love to travel, and love to drive through the night. It is my dream to drive all the way from J&K to the southern most part of India - Kanyakumari. I want to park my car next to the ocean at the southernmost point of India, and take a picture of the car against the setting sun! 5. This part of me is a mystery!
